August 9, 2021 (Jacksonville, Fl.) – Alivia Care, Inc. has purchased Better Life Home Health in Summerfield, Florida, expanding the organization’s care solutions to a total of 32 counties in North Florida and Southeast Georgia. With this acquisition, Alivia Care, Inc.’s care solutions now include home health, hospice, palliative care, and PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). The mission of Alivia Care, Inc. is to provide leadership and support innovative care solutions through best-in-class services, collaborative partnerships, and strategic investments.
Alivia Care, Inc.’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Susan Ponder-Stansel, an LCSW whose entire career has been devoted to helping people live better. She led Community Hospice & Palliative Care from a movement to a 16-county provider in North Florida that cares for over 1,200 patients and their families daily. More recently, Ponder-Stansel was selected as one of only two new board members appointed to the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC). Her vision, and that of Alivia Care, Inc.’s board of directors, is to establish a platform to create transformative care solutions that meet the needs of patients, providers, and communities.

The purchase of Better Life in Summerville, Florida adds a home health care solution footprint of 16 counties in North Florida. While Alivia Care of Georgia, a Georgia-based non-profit subsidiary of the parent organization was also founded on June 1, 2020. Since its inception, Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Georgia, and Hospice Satilla in Waycross, Georgia have become Alivia Care of Georgia affiliates. These quality-driven, community-based, non-profit hospice providers care for patients and families in 11 counties in Southeast Georgia.
